  • Book Condition & Notes

Orginal blue cloth board with the orginial dust jacket. Boards show light shelf wear commensurate with age. The binding is firm and sqaure and the contents are clean, other than a previous owner's inscriptions to the front endpaper. The original dust jacket shows only light shelf wear, with a few small edge tears, a larger tear to the rear panel, water staining to the rear panel and a small area of surface loss to the front panel. Despite these blemishes, the jacket remains complete, bright and appealing to the eye, and the book is in very good overall condition.

About the book

The Milan Grill Room is a series of ten connected short stories featuring the character of Louis, a disabled veteran of World War I and maître d'hôtel, who solves crimes from his table in the Grill Room of the hotel and who is able to provide invaluable assistance to the British police and Secret Service.

Tracking spies, catching traitors, uncovering plots, often in the company of Major Charles Lyson of the Secret Service, Louis is never ruffled, and always resourceful. These ten connected episodes are replete with adventure, intrigue and romance.
